Anxiety In Teenagers

Most of us have experienced anxiety. It's a normal reaction whenever we are in a difficult or stressful situation. However, for teens with severe anxiety, life can be very complicated for them. Not only them but there are growing toddlers who had to cope up with anxiety.
According to psychology, teens' anxiety can be very dangerous and they might have suicidal thoughts. It gets worse if their parents don't notice it. They quietly have to go through excessive worrying about everything. They have problems being asleep and usually have a physical illness like headaches, stomachaches, and many more. Most parents chose to ignore it and take it as a minority. These teenagers stress a lot and sometimes, depression and panic attacks are evident too.
Besides this, they end up developing avoidance behaviors such as actions an individual might take to avoid facing any difficult situation, thoughts, or even feelings. Such behaviors can have a huge negative impact on their life. It can increase their anxiety even more. They might even build walls around themselves just to avoid conversation with people.

What can be reasons for their anxiety?
There could be many reasons due to their anxiety for example like stress that can result from school or personal relationships or maybe because of emotional trauma.
Sometimes even parents can make teen anxiety worse due to many reasons. Nowadays, parents live up to high expectations in studies from their kids. But they don't little effort into teaching the kids the emotional skills that they need to succeed in. This is one of the most common reasons for anxiety in teens as they were never taught about the emotional skills that they need in life from their childhood. The only thing I want from parents is to teach them about the emotional skills that they need in life.
Sometimes a teen might feel anxious, upset, depressed, and angry for no reason at all. Some of this is likely caused by hormonal fluctuations.

Then, what is the main problem after all?
After everything, the main problem is us, who don't give a damn about them, who don't think of teenage life as worthy as it is and mostly with their anxiety, and problems which we think that only adults and a guy or gal who is 18plus can only have. If we don't help them, then how can you expect them to get better? Every day, they have fear, almost, about everything, they cry, almost every night that too silently so that they don't end up making someone awake. All they need is some motivation from us. But, remember, it's their battle, not yours. Just be supportive and that's all that matters. Self-care is important. Teens with severe anxiety need a deep and sustainable emotional bond that can connect them. But, make the bond only when you are determined to help them because if you have other intentions other than this, then its result can be worse than their present anxiety condition.
So lastly.......
I wrote an article on this so that I can make you aware of what a teenager can go through if he or she has severe anxiety. You are probably aware of this but the main thing I want is a little help. They need someone to help them, motivate them. As a parent, don't do too much but do motivate them. As a friend, let them know that you care for them. Open their eyes. Be one of those good people.
If you are going through any problems like anxiety, we are always there for you
