How Art Journaling Has Helped Me Over The Years?

❕IMPORTANT MESSAGE BY BLOGGER AT THE END❕

I have been into Arts since I was one. Over the years, it became a part of my small comfort system. It's something that I would cherish till I die.

I have one and it helped me a lot. Here's how:

Regardless of whether or not you have any art “talent” or training, all you need to art journal is some simple art materials and a willingness to play with the art materials. It’s the play that’s healing!

This is what I love about art journaling. My pages constantly go through several stages and layers. Often I will just spill out my emotions on the page in writing, or scribble a bit with a paintbrush. I don’t worry at all what it looks like, I just allow myself to “let it all hang out” and that feels good. It often helps me de-stress, get things off my chest, or figure out exactly what is troubling me about a particular situation.

I love watching my confused, stressed out, annoyed, anxious page turns into something new – and often – something imperfectly beautiful. It’s a great metaphor for life – being willing to stay with my feelings, try some healthy ways of opening them out and understanding them and watching them convert.

When I art journal, I grow as an artist and don't feel overwhelmed or pressured.

The thing what I love the most is that I get to feel the freedom. I choose what to do and how to do it. Anything is possible and there are no limits.

I love these small joys of experimenting in my journal. You can take anything you want and see what it is like on your page.

Most importantly, it changed my perspective on myself and the world.

Are you aware of some modern illustration art? Usually, these type of arts are very bright and shows happiness but, if you look for the dark type, you can relate to it. The arts that I added in-between paragraphs are some example.[below as well]

With all this, it enables me to grow into a person with a better mindset. I enjoy the process and not care so much about the result.

And finally, I have a wonderful alone time, with no one there to judge you. Only you, your thoughts, your emotions, and your art.

I think most of you can't find the meaning behind each art. It's okay. Very few does and if you are one of them, congrats. It's a pity that arts don't receive the praise and respect they deserve. Society is a joke.
